Big Valley Rancheria Solid Waste Program

Household Trash Dropoffs
Tribal Members can dispose of household trash at the dumpster located on Mission Way near the Big Valley Tribal Office or the dumpster located on Soda Bay Road. Paper and aluminum can be dropped off at the Tribal Office.

Recycling Materials
Tribal Members can drop off recycling materials and be paid for CA deposits at the Timberline Transfer Station located on Soda Bay Road. Timberline disposal on Soda Bay Road will take old auto tires for one dollar each, clean green waste, cardboard, glass, and for free.

Hazardous Materials

Tribal Members can call or stop by the Environmental Protection Office to find out the dates of county wide Has-Mobile Days. Hazardous Materials include tires, batteries, paints, pesticides, household cleaners and used oil. It visits towns around the lake on a rotating schedule. At the request of a Tribal Member, the environmental staff can assist in the disposal of Hazardous Materials.

Scrape Metal Removal (Junk Cars/Appliances)
Contact us to assist you in appliance and auto recycling. To remove unwanted vehicles a pink slip is essential for easy pick up by a wrecker. A title search will need to be done for vehicles with out pink slips before removal can be accomplished. Another option is to donate vehicles that are still in good shape to non-profit agencies. Contact us (262-3924) to help with these arrangements.

Air Quality Concerns
The burning of man-made materials, such as plastics, produces toxic chemicals that cause cancer and other health problems. Calm air conditions result in toxic smoke being trapped at ground level. Please use the dumpster provided for household trash at the locations on the Rancheria. Do not overfill. The dumpsters will be emptied on Mondays and Wednesdays. Household trash only.

Burning Plastic Makes Toxic Smoke.
